Valentine Love

This card was made for Mary Jo's Monday lunchtime sketch challenge TSSC55. Boy did it take me out of my comfort zone. I am not use to doing long narrow cards especially when they are turned on their side instead of standing tall. I knew that I wanted to do a heart for the center image I was hoping that the rest would fall into place like when I usually do a card. No such luck though. I am one who won't let a creation get the better of me so I kept trying things and changing things. Two days later this is the final product. Not my best work but acceptable to me.

I really liked making the heart wreath, I love Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps. This set was given to me by a good friend, Kristen, who is a very talented person but didn't have a lot of fun with these types of stamps. You can't tell very good but there is silver stickles dotted all around the heart. The swirls on each side of the card are also dotted with the stickles.

I am glad I stuck with finishing it and I hope that someone who reads this chuckles a bit because they have been in this same situation and plugged along with their project. I really think it makes you a better papercrafter down the road.
Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry, SU
CS: GP white, SU and DP Bo Bunny, Kaisercraft
Ink: Versafine and Ass't. SU colors
Accessories: Black brads, silver stickles and unknown sticker letters

I am hoping to have lots of time to create this weekend and so check back soon to see what else I try my hand at.

Thanks for looking,
Mary

As always, great job with the Tapestry stamps! I'd have a really hard time with the long skinny card.

Mary I think this turned out great! The great thing about challenges is they force us to work outside our comfort zone.
