An Easter Gift For You

With it getting close to Easter I thought I better get going on some Easter cards. This card was made with a Mo's Digital Pencil image that I absolutely love. I am not sure it was meant to be for an Easter card but it reminded me of when my kids were little and were looking to give their grandmother a gift from them not the family. It meant that we would be running out the day before and buying flowers for them to give. This image is just like my daughter was at this age all dressed up pretty with some kind of shoes that she liked but didn't always match what she was wearing. (She had a major thing about owning lots of shoes back then and still does today!) So I think it would make a perfect card for my mother this year.

I did feather blending on her dress, I need some more practice at it I think. I love the look of it when it is done right. Mine does look a little better in real life than in my picture here. I used some of my favorite ribbon on this card also, it is two colors blue and green blended together on it.

Here are some fantastic challenges that fit this card

Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge #35-This challenge is an Easter theme

Bee Crafty Challenge #26-This is a Spring challenge, What says Spring more than Easter time!

Magical Crafts Challenge #11-This challenge is an Spring/Easter theme

I Love Digi Challenge #3-The challenge is an Easter Theme and use a digi stamp

Polka Doodles Challenge #11-This is a really fun sketch and the twist to it was to have all the elements(4) interlock somehow. This was one that needed some thought!
Copic Creations Anniversary Challenge-It is their one year Anniversary so there challenge is to do your favorite Copic technique that they have shown us throughout the year. One of my favorites is feather blending. I need some more practice but it looks great when done perfectly!

Please check out all this fantastic challenges! It is lots of fun to play along with them!

He Loves Me Not!

Today is a beautiful, sunny St. Patrick's Day in New England! It puts me in such a happy mood. I decided to post a really fun and sort of silly card today! This is one of the Kraftin' Kimmies stamps that I bought a while back and couldn't quite decide what to do with her until now. You know when you pick a flower with petals and pluck them one at a time while saying "he loves me, he loves me not", I decided she was sticking the pins into the doll as she is thinking, "he loves me, he loves me not!" and then throwing in a few "wicked wishes" since she has a few pins left. That is why she is blushing and has a smile on her face!

I love Basic Grey paper and whenever I buy it I always buy two packs so I don't run out of it right away. Green is not my favorite color so I only bought one of this Origins pack and so regret it. Turns out I love it. Now it goes right to the top of my list of must haves.

This card is a mix of a lot of old and new. I have decided I have to start using up crafting stuff that I have bought and never use instead of just buying new. The ribbon on this card was bought in 2005 (don't ask me why I wrote the date and store on it) and then never opened until this week. The hat pin I have had for a couple of years but hardly ever used them because they were expensive so I was saving them for "special" cards. I tend to hoard a lot of stuff that I think I might run out of. The rope border punch was the first one I bought long ago and used always then started to collect dust when scallops came out. I have decided to try to use 3 "old things" every time I make a card. Does anyone else hoard there stuff or just forget what you have to use? I hope it's not just me!

Well enough rambling here are the challenges that this card fits

Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #19-Lucky 4 is the challenge, some thing lucky on the card or 4 of something the same. I have four beads on my hat pin. This challenge made me realize how often I use 3 of something on my cards, not 2 or 4.

Little Red Wagon #20-There challenge this week is to use Copics. I love my Copics, I colored my image with them and also I colored the flower shades of green and put spots on them to coordinate with the spots on the DP. Couldn't live with out them!

Raise The Bar Challenge #8-this challenge is to "Go Green". I tried to have lots of shades of green on this card!

Stamp Something Challenge-Cream and green is their challenge this week. I have both green and cream on this card and they go together quite nicely I think.

Practical Scrappers Sketch Friday-I loved working with this sketch! It gave me a lot to work with to make it my own for this card!

Paper Cutz Challenge #32-This is a fun challenge because it is "Anything Goes" and I thought this card was sort of the same because of the silliness behind it!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #21-"Just Bead It" is this challenge. I haven't pulled out my beads in a very long time, it was lots of fun using them on my creation.

Copic Creation Challenge #24-This is their one year anniversary so they are letting us chose our favorite technique that they have shared this year. I have learned lots of wonderful things but one of my favorites is being able to color embellishments. i love when everthing on a card coordinates. I colored the flower shades of green and then dotted it with brown spots to go with the backround DP!

One Stop Craft Challenge #71-this is really fun it is Spots and Dots. i love anything with dots so I knoew this would be a fun challenge to play along with!

Creative Card Crew Challenge 46-The challenge is going dotty. I am definitely going dotty myself some days, so why not on my cards!

Colour Create Challenge 40-This challenge is to use the colors mint, chocolate and cream. This is a great combination of colors.

Crafty Creations Challenge 59-Another great challenge using spots and dots. Great minds (and challenges) think alike!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Oh Rainy Day! It has been pouring here for three straight days and after tonight it will be three nights too! Along with the pounding rain we have had strong winds and lots of flooding. I should be sick of all of it but I figure for it being March in New England it could be worse, this could all be snow and we would be buried in it until June! Tomorrow we should see some clearing and then sun and warm temps into the 60's by the weekend. All this rain makes for a good crafting time.

This card is for week 2 of Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge. I hope you all got a chance to play along with us last week. The cards were all wonderful, so many talented ladies out there!
This week the challenge is to make a card to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! I am Irish so it was always a day for a dinner of corned beef and cabbage and lots of wearing of green. All of the lady's cards this week are sure to inspire you to play along with us! So dig out your Basic Grey Paper and start creating.

When I saw this cute image from Sassy Cheryl's of a boy in a kilt trying to play the bag pipes I fell in love with it. Knew I had to have it for this card. Her digis are so cute that I had to buy a few more so you'll be seeing those soon on my cards.

This card fits the following challenges

In Bloom!!

I definitely have Spring Fever. It has been in the 50's and sunny here for quite a few days. I have seen some crocuses coming up and the kids are wearing shorts to school! What better says Spring than bunnies. I love to color bunnies and all the papers are bright and colorful so it puts me in a really happy mood. I think some of the cutest bunnies are the High Hope ones. This was a free one from them last year that they sent with my order for waiting quite a while. This is the first time I got to color and use it so it seems like a brand new stamp.

I love this striped DP because it is glittered on some of the stripes, a nice added touch. I finished this card when I got together with friends to stamp and laugh this past weekend. The dotted paper was in my sister's stash and worked perfectly with the dots in the striped DP. Don't you just love when everything goes together effortlessly.

I used some new products on this card that I couldn't resist buying, the glittered brads around the bunny are We R Memory Keepers and the Glitter Buttons are American Craft Elements I found them both at my LSS in Westford, MA. The silver heart charm was from the clearance bin at Michaels, I love digging in there to see what I can find for a steal!

Here are the challenges that this card is for

Sketch and Stash Challenge 30-This was a great sketch challenge and the twist to this challenge is to use new stuff you have couldn't resist having! I am so weak when it comes to new things to play with!

Stamp With Fun Challenge Challenge #49-This challenge is all about Spring, what a great challenge to start Spring early

Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #18-"Let it Shine" is the challenge, anything that you think of when you hear the word "SHINE". I think of sparkle like the glittered DP, the glitter brads and buttons, and the silver charm, lots of shine I think!

Challenge Up Your Life Challenge #15-This challenge is to have stripes and at least 3 buttons. How much fun is this challenge, I love both of these things!

Quirky Crafts Challenge 23-This is a new challenge for me and a fun one. This challenge is to use buttons and it has to be a cute theme. I love cute!

KL SNS Challenge #20-Button Down the Hatches is the challenge this week. You are to use buttons on your creation. Catchy title for a great challenge!

Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Challenge SSDS30-This challenge is an open challenge this week and a new challenge that I just found. I love new challenges!
